Instructions to the Authors

 

Introduction and Scope

Reproductive and Developmental Medicine (RDM) is an international peer-reviewed journal reporting original articles, case reports, opinions, debates and topical reviews on the subject of reproductive and developmental biology, and reproductive medicine. Papers published cover the basic, clinical and translational researches relevant to, but are not limited to, reproductive endocrinology, reproductive immunology, embryo development, birth defect and heredity, infectious diseases, new techniques and methods in reproductive and developmental biology.

Ethical standards   Human experiments may be performed only in accordance with the ethical standards provided by the responsible committee of the institution or with the Helsinki Declaration. Animal experiments should follow the instructions for the care and use provided by the institution.

Title page   Complete title of the manuscript, names and affiliations of all authors, institution at which the work was performed, name, E-mail, and address for correspondence.

Abstract   This should consist of less than 300 words in structured form (not compulsory for review articles), consisting of Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion(s).

Key words   Three to eight keywords or phrases appropriate for the article.

Text   Introduction; 1) Materials (or Subjects, as is in study involving human subject) & Methods; 2) Results; 3) Conclusion &/or Discussion; 4) Acknowledgements or Financial support and sponsorship; 5) Conflicts of interest; 6) References; 7)figures legends, if any, should be placed at the end of the text after the references. And upload the images in JEPG format.; 8)Tables, if any, should be placed together with legends at the end of the text after the references. The tables and figures along with their number should be cited at the relevant place in the text.

Reference Authors are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of their references and for correct citation of the text. References should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text (not in alphabetic order). Identify references in text, tables, and legends by Arabic numerals in superscript after the punctuation marks. References cited only in tables or figure legends should be numbered in accordance with the sequence established by the first identification in the text of the particular table or figure. The titles of journals should be abbreviated according to the style used in Index Medicus.

Note1: List authors and/or editors up to 6; if more than 6, list the first 6 authors followed by et al.

 

Note2: From Jan 2016, the available DOI should be added at the end of every reference.

Figures

1. Upload the images in JPEG format. The file size should be within 1024 kb in size and.the image has minimum resolution of 300 dpi or 1800 x 1600 pixels.
2. Figures should be numbered consecutively according to the order in which they have been first cited in the text.
3. When symbols, arrows, numbers, or letters are used to identify parts of the illustrations, identify and explain each one in the legend.
4. Titles and detailed explanations belong in the legends for illustrations not on the illustrations themselves.
5. When graphs, scatter-grams or histograms are submitted the numerical data on which they are based should also be supplied.
6. If photographs of individuals are used, their pictures must be accompanied by written permission to use the photograph.
7. If a figure has been published elsewhere, acknowledge the original source and submit written permission from the copyright holder to reproduce the material. A credit line should appear in the legend for such figures.
8. Legends for illustrations: Type or print out legends (maximum 40 words, excluding the credit line) for illustrations using double spacing, with Arabic numerals corresponding to the illustrations.
9. The Journal reserves the right to crop, rotate, reduce, or enlarge the photographs to an acceptable size.

Tables
1. Tables should be self-explanatory and should not duplicate textual material.
2. Number tables, in Arabic numerals, consecutively in the order of their first citation in the text.

3. Explain in footnotes all non-standard abbreviations that are used in each table.

4. Obtain permission for all fully borrowed, adapted, and modified tables and provide a credit line in the footnote.
